So we finally decided Darla's official nickname is "Caboose". Just feels right :)
This little sweetheart is pure joy. She is usually very happy and definitely one of ours as evidenced by her lack of reverence. She jabbered all through church today and drew so much attention to herself with her boisterous cuteness that I probably should have left Sunday School.
She had her first sick day this week (8 months and the first time she's been sick) and I think it was mostly due to teething. No teeth have erupted yet but her mouth is really sensitive and her gums look miserably swollen. She had a low grade fever for two days and was very much not herself (read quiet, sleepy, cuddly and whiney) but around 4:00 this morning her fever broke and she is back to her normal happy self.
She is also crawling ALL OVER the place and nothing is safe. Outlets are right at her eye level and the fronts of her clothes show how dirty I've let the floors get as she belly crawls around the house eating every scrap of crayon wrapper she can find. It's gross really, but my cleaning habits will have to improve with this little doll chasing me around the house.
She is still the honey of the hive and we all cater to her every sound. The kids line up to hold her and all want to kiss her goodnight. The icing on the cake is that she has learned her first syllable and of course, it's Dadadada. He doesn't get all the perks though, I still get to cuddle her every three hours and let's hope that last for at least a few more months! Aaah baby love. I'm gonna miss it.
