Son-of-a-gun is ONE!

It's only fitting that almost every picture in this post is of Brig eating - that's his favorite hobby and he's extremely good at it! We met with a nutritionist this last week who was concerned about his weight (he's only in the 10%). She asked me what he ate and then I told her what he'd had for breakfast - a big bowl of baby food (spinach and carrots and peaches) and then three bananas and a half cup of oatmeal and 8 oz of a kale/orange smoothie. No kidding - all at one sitting and he wanted more. Needless to say he's not starving.
For his birthday we decided against another cake since we'd just had Kabe's monstrosity and instead gave him a bowl of messy whipped cream to play with.
He wasn't too sure about it at first and I think the candle freaked him out a little.
I had to laugh at his expressions as he explored this strange new thing. Finally though, he dug in and had a good time making quite a mess before I took it away and he, of course, screamed at me to give it back.
And into the bath we go - he's such a cute bather and I'm ashamed to admit this is one of very few bathing pictures I have of him (4th child syndrome I guess).
And then haircut time. Yes, I caved and cut off lots of his funky mohawk. This is the before and below . . . the handsome after.
Yes, he looks like a little missionary with a comb-over. He was so good and sad still kissing his reflection in the mirror the whole time.
And of course - more eating pictures (yes - he ate ALL of those watermelon slices). I love his dimples, his laugh, the way he teases me and slides down the stairs on his stomach. I love that he always wants to be in the middle of our chaos and the way he cuddles with me when he's tired or pretending to be shy with strangers. I love that he knows my voice and that he's always singing his own little songs. I love how he's so patient with his siblings and so excited when Daddy walks through the door. I love to watch him sleep and remember just where he came from and thank my Heavenly Father every day for this beautiful baby boy! Happy Birthday Brigs . . . we love you!
