Leave the City Behind

More than anything this break we wanted to get out of the city and find a nice place to chill. We decided spur of the moment to trade in our "picnic in the country" plans for a full-out overnight camping trip at lake Texoma. Yes, I've added another state to my list, I've been to Oklahoma (about 5 miles over the border that is).

Ksenya made up a new song, it's called, "Are we there yet" and it lasted about 35 minutes (the lyrics were fantastic but you'd have to hear it to appreciate it).

Finally - here we are all set up and guess what? no mosquitos! I thought I was in heaven!

My handsome happy camping man. The campsite was really beautiful and the weather was incredible!

This is the view from our campsite and that there is the beautiful CLEAN sandy beach that we played on for hours - burying every child we could find. I don't have pictures of that yet since I wasn't brave enough to bring my new camera down in the sand and water.

Kabe and some of our friends - having a good time exploring the rocks and hunting for treasure.

I literally caught Ksenya and told her to freeze - they were going a mile a minute the whole time and had so much fun! She is big enough now to be quite a bit more independent and asked me after if we could "just live in our tent".

Ayvri was the potty training nightmare and I think we went through 12 pairs of underwear on our little trip, finally I put her back in a diaper and from then on she was dry as can be . . . apparently she didn't want to go in her diaper. Go figure that one!

Anyone want to go back this week? I'm ready for another few days of the peace and quiet, the cool weather and the lake!
