Budding Artist.

I must do better at scanning and preserving more of the kids' art. Ksenya in particular is always writing something and drawing something.
Most of her art depicts her with either Daddy or Mommy and sometimes the whole family. Her stick figures have really evolved and it's fun to see her "tops" matching Mommy's. I also really love Dad's hair.
Generally there is a sunshine somewhere in the picture which pleases me (except the picture of the tornado she drew which was shockingly accurate). This is Daddy and Kabe sporting mile-wide grins and interesting hairblobs. Note how the colors are always gender appropriate. If there's one thing my girl is completely aware of it is gender.Allow me to explain. We were doing a drawing activity to learn to draw whales. She got frustrated and I told her that practice makes perfect. What followed was this exasperated note. I'll interpret . . . "I hat jrowing whales and practist bu'znt maak prfict". (I hate drawing whales and practice doesn't make perfect). I am so glad she always ends her notes "Love Ksenya" or I might think she was mad at me.

Oh, how sweet. At least she still loves you, right? We were told in clogging all those years that practice makes permanent, so don't practice it wrong.

Ha, these are great. I remember one time I came across a box of stuff from when I was about five or six and I laughed so hard because I really am not that much different today--ultra opinionated, sassy, and (a little too) creative. She'll love seeing these things someday!

Oh my gosh!! That is so wonderful! Tell her I am so proud of her and she is a wonderful little artist. Cultivate that one Toni--she could be the next Cecilia Beaux .
