Pure Sunshine

When I was little I loved all things yellow - and still do. It's been my favorite color my whole life and so when I prepared for Ksenya - my own baby girl had to have all things yellow. Her room was yellow, her blankets were yellow, and most of her clothes were yellow.

Ksenya doesn't love yellow - she loves pink and purple. I really had to get used to that and even though now I really do like pink it took me a while to decide that she could have whatever favorite color she wanted.

Then we had another girl on the way - Ayvri would, I knew, be just like her sister and love pink and purple so that's what I made - her room, her blankets, her clothes . . . everything pink and purple and frilly and girly. Obviously I don't have a clue what I'm doing.

Ayvri LOVES yellow. It's the only color she'll say and was one of her first words - she insists on painting her toes and fingers yellow (ONLY yellow) . . . every morning she asks for a yellow shirt, a yellow bow, a yellow apple or yellow banana. Hunting easter eggs she only wanted to find the yellow ones.

Inevitably she had to have a yellow tutu - and she says it SOO cute! It was well worth the $5 it cost to make and she will, I'm sure, wear it out. She brings so much sunshine though is it any wonder that I relate to her spoiled impishness?
