Government Peak

We decided to drive up to Government Peak and do a little sledding.  Sometimes I look around and wonder, "Where do we live?"
The snow and ice up the mountain are really incredible - the ice gets so thick!  The pictures just really don't do it justice.  The rivers here are huge and there is water everywhere!!!

There is snow and ice on the rivers in huge sheets that are feet thick - this was after it had been melting for a few weeks.

We drove up Hatcher's Pass too - but it was a little too intense for me.  The snow was so bright it made my head hurt.

There are mountains in every direction and they all seem so close and so big.

I also enjoy cloud watching here.  There are a lot of different kinds of clouds and there are always clouds in the sky - there are very few completely clear blue days.

Even the sky here feels bigger and closer.

Crazy amazing place that we live!
