Bright Adventure

For months every time we drive past the lighthouse at the Providence Center Brigham asks if he can go inside.  He has been fascinated by it for so long that I decided to try and figure out who owns it and see if it would be possible to check this off his bucket list.
Thankfully, the owner was very sweet and when I explained it was the wish of this 5-year-old's heart they agreed.  Because of liability issues only he and I were allowed to go in (a rare birthday adventure that the whole family didn't get to share).
I didn't tell him where we were going - just put him in the car and asked him where he wanted to go for his birthday adventure.  His first choice was camping at Sand Hollow, but after that he said, "I know the place!  To the lighthouse!"
He was so excited when we got there that he couldn't help giggling.  They opened the door and we went in and started climbing. When he looked up and saw all those stairs he said, "Can we go to the top?"  I said we could go up as far as he wanted as long as he held my hand.  We started climbing and he started getting a little nervous (which is good because Mom started getting a little dizzy).  Finally we stopped by a window so he could see out and then carefully climbed down.

What a fun memory for this boy - so thankful he finally got to go inside the lighthouse.
