August 2013 Pack Meeting

Well, the theme for this month's pack meeting was "Summer Olympics" and if you can't tell from this next picture, water was involved!  It was at the park and the leaders did such a great job of making it fun and special for the boys.  I heard a lot of people say, "Cub Scouts is a party" and boy was it!
Here's Danny going through the tunnel of victory (he got his Bobcat).  Great job Danny, loved this picture, what a fun face.  Danny is like our extra son.  He is such a great boy and we love him to pieces.  He usually arrives after school and on the weekends and is just another one of our herd.
Here's the big moment.  Kabe and Mom have been very excited about him finally earning his Wolf advancement - among other things.  He also got 8 arrow points (1 gold and 7 silver) and his Leave No Trace award.  He's been working so hard and it was fun to finally have him receive his patches (now to sew them on).
Kabe was cautious as he went through the tunnel of victory.
After the awards the kids were all set loose to try out the water obstacle course - Ksenya was brave and had a great time (she doesn't like water in her face, can you tell?)
Ayvri loved the jumping and I loved this picture of her - seriously the long gangly thing is built for running and leaping.
She also rolls really well.  She went right off this ball backwards and landed pretty much on her head.
Brig actually got up and over this ball as well - crazy kid had a great time playing in the water.
Daddy was the only leader there brave enough to play in the water with the boys - he went through the tunnel of victory uniform and all.  What a great leader!
You can tell that his scouts love him - at least they love hosing him down.  Seriously it was fun watching him just play with his den.
He may have gotten a little silly on the surf board.
Leisl had a great time - although she didn't want anything to do with the water and wanted everything to do with the orange popsicle.  Darla spent the evening reading one of her new birthday books with Grandma.
Brig also enjoyed the popsicles and ended up a little shivery after he was soaking wet.  Didn't stop the fun though - after he asked me where the sun was and I pointed it out to him, he went right back to playing.
All the boys had such a great time and the water course was so much fun - lots of work for the leaders, but well worth it for the blast the boys (and families) had.
