What about Jeffery?

"Once upon a time when Mommy was little she loved to go to primary. She loved to listen to stories from the scriptures and to sing the primary songs. She tried very very hard to be reverent and quiet and sit still. There was a little boy in Mommy's class named Jeffery who was very very funny. He could make everyone laugh whenever he wanted and was always doing the silliest things. Mommy really liked Jeffery. But whenever Jeffery made them laugh they got in trouble and it was even harder for Mommy to sit still. Sometimes Jeffery acted silly when the teacher was trying to talk and that was irritating to Mommy. After a little while Mommy decided she didn't really like Jeffery because he didn't know when to stop being funny. She even acted mean to him during primary. Even though it was wrong for Mommy to be mean, it's a lot easier to be nice to someone when they're not acting like a Jeffery."
This is my little "Jeffery". He's really struggling with church right now. It's normal, but still sad. What I didn't tell him is that Mommy and Jeffery got into a fight during primary one week - like a physical fight. Yep, Mommy had her own issues. So what do I do for my Jeffery?
He's a wonderful boy - who just has the hardest time sitting still and being quiet at church. It's an exciting place full of wonderfully exciting people and after an hour of strict reverence (or as close to it as we can get) during sacrament meeting, the boy is WILD. So - I'm petitioning for suggestions . . . what do we do about "Jeffery"?

p.s. I'm sure the real Jeffery is now a wonderful man and hope in no way to offend him or his family if they ever see this - I was a little girl, and not the nicest one either.

My brother, Uncle DeMar was a lot like Jeffery. Grandma G. use to keep a silly putty in his church pants pocket. That helped keep his hands busy during Sacrament meeting. He would also practice holding his breath during Sacrament meeting. One time he held his breath for 2 1/2 minutes. Yes, his face was purple and his eyes were bugging out of his head. But he was quiet!! He thought it helped him be a better swimmer expanding his lung capacity!! Good luck!
