Babies get more face time than the other kids because they are changing more over a short period of time (I tell myself this to soothe my conscience). Still, what a wonderful face to fill our time with. I think she looks a bit like her cousin Kodi in this picture and I LOVE that she has found her tongue.
Darla is 5 1/2 months old now and weighs in just under 12 pounds. She's 23 1/2 inches long and is just getting into her 6-9 month clothes. She is a happy smiling baby and loves to be down on the floor in the middle of the chaos.
She is such an expressive baby and makes the most wonderful noises and faces when you engage her. Whenever Daddy is in the room she smiles and smiles at him, even if he is paying her no attention at all. She seems to be the same way with Kabe, but likes all of us (even Brig, who I'm sure she should be scared of).
She's probably teething a little but since I'm in denial about that topic (as an undeniable sign of growth and the inevitable becoming a teenager) we'll stop there.
Daddy came up with another pet name for her the other day, he was singing to the tune of the Hallelujiah chorus with the words, "Dar-le-lu-jiah". It's funny. We still call her "roo" a lot, "pukaroo", "stinkaroo", "spitaroo". She's also the little Darlin' of the family, which is probably the most common nickname thus far and I'm fine with that since it's what my Daddy called me when I was little.

She's absolutely adorable. Trey and I enjoy your many Darla posts. Trey loves to look at pictures of babies (don't tell Brigham, but he counts as a baby too, even though he's older than Trey!), so I always know where to find cute, new pictures of babies for him =)
