Presence

This year Christmas was so pleasant as each child had one gift that they really enjoyed all day and there was no fighting at our house (SO rare). Ksenya enjoyed writing music and fiddled at the piano all day long. She is very studious and musical and absolutely LOVES having her own staff paper and composing pencils.
Kabe spent much of the day in the garage, practicing on his new scooter. And of course, he didn't take off his "Johnny Appleseed" hat all day - even when we told him it's really a Davey Crocket hat.
Ayvri of course carted her baby "Lisa" around everywhere - combing her hair and pretending to put her lip gloss on and dancing her around. I think she loves babies so much because it gives her someone to talk to all the time.
Brig played with his big red fire truck all day - but when picture time came around he wanted a picture of his red pants. He loves to truck around outside with the bigger kids but inevitably lands on his bum and then he's cold and wet. These are a huge hit and I can't believe how adorable he is in them.

My favorite part is that all of these were gifts carefully chosen by a sibling. We drew names again this year and let the kids shop for each other. Not only were the older ones careful about what they spent, they were each so considerate of what the other kids might want and found literally the perfect gifts. I'm so thankful for my sweet kids.
