FOOD

As the holidays are upon us my thoughts turn to FOOD!!! Ok, seriously - traditions are so steeped in butter and sugar and gravy that I just have to know . . . what are your staple traditional holiday foods? We're talking the desserts, the main courses, the appetizers - give me a list, I'm HUNGRY! (If you really want to include recipes you can, but if not, I'll just bug you for them later).
So far all I'm determined to make is a rocky road roll (my favorite) and warm spinach artichoke dip, oh and hot wassail. The pumpkin roll last night was divine, but feels more like Thanksgiving to me so maybe I should try a chocolate peppermint version?

Oh, oh, oh! I also love food! And traditions involving food are the best! We have cream of broccoli soup to celebrate the first snowfall (you may be out of luck on that one) and Christmas Eve is clam chowder night. If you try a chocolate peppermint version of the pumpkin roll, I want to see it! That sounds yummy.

My must have treat is sweet chex mix, that my mom makes. I love it! Pure sugar of course, but oh so yummy!! We seem to always have cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. And you have to have at least one pan of fudge!!!

I forgot. First week of the year is "soup week". I know, it would seem I have a thing for soup.

Mmmm...
homemade chocolate-covered caramel!
...and fudge...
...and divinity...
...and the Christmas Twist...

Now my mouth is watering!

Hi Toni! I met you at WalMart today! Thank for the link to Lisa'a dance class. I hope to get Piper signed up soon. By the way, I was thinking about it and we might have seen each other in the "sing along gang" with Diana Dana. Piper was in that group. Anyway, hey-we are having a "Live Nativity " at our house this Saturday night from 6:30-8:30. Live animals and very fun for the kids. I would love for you to come. Bring friends if you would like. It is free with cookie and hot chocolate. Our address is 138 Red Oak Lane. Thanks again and hope to see you Toni!

Did you make that turkey? Wow. I almost ate my computer just looking at it. You are one talented woman. The apex of it all is that you ENJOY it too! I enjoy the finished product. Does that count?
