I'm Thankful for Music

-Music-
I'm exceedingly thankful for music and my ability to listen to it and experience it. I'm amazed at the strong emotional and physical responses that we have to music. The other night I had the rare opportunity to just lay down and listen for a few minutes. I'll admit, I teared up listening to "Impossible Dream" from the Man of La Mancha. I love the variety of music and how each makes me feel . . . here's a very short list of songs that I've loved lately.

"Man in the Mirror" Michael Jackson (never thought I'd love his music but this one is great)
"The Impossible Dream" best ever live performance by Robert Peterson
"Count Your Blessings" Rosemary Clooney (MoTab also has a nice arrangement)
"I'm Yours" Jason Mraz. This one makes me happy (listen to the music as the Mormon people dance and sing . . . I swear those are the correct lyrics).
"Last of the Mohicans" theme song - ah, be still my heart!
"They Say that Falling in Love is Wonderful" Howard Keel
"Send in the Clowns" Frank Sinatra
"String Quartet in B Flat" Haydn
"August Rush" theme song - amazing guitar.
"Phantom of the Opera" entire show is amazing, my favorite is probably "Point of No Return"
I love almost anything by Coldplay, U2, Tim McGraw and Jon Schmidt.

I love music too! How did you know? You did forget one aspect of music to include as to why we love it. The music that forces you to get up and dance. My little Tell man loves those songs. :)
