Bloomin'

A good friend invited us to go to the Dallas Arboretum and being the botany geeks that we are, we were so excited to go! After seeing everything that is growing there it's hard to use the excuse that "we just can't grow that in Texas". It was really incredible!!!
There were also a few cute little kids who I just had to cnap a few pictures of.
My favorite part was the little village of wooden houses and pioneer stuff that the kids could play with.
Look at the pink leaves! Ksenya was excited that these plants matched her shirt so well.
The cute wooden playhouses reminded me of when I was little - they smelled just like the playhouse we had when I was growing up.
Who doesn't love a little boy playing with farm implements???
I was also very excited about the grass - I know, sounds silly. See in Texas you can't sit on the grass, there are bugs all over and it's hard to find grass that feels good on your feet. I couldn't resist letting Brig sit down and just play in the grass!
He loved the short-lived freedom and the taste of that yummy green stuff.
Such a cheeser - all her smiles are this wrinkly things right now. Look how long her hair is though? She's getting so big!
She doesn't like to have her picture taken so I have to really chase her. She loves to tease me by not looking at the camera, but I thought this one was cute anyway.
Ksenya had to "clean up" all of the little cabins and make the beds in each one. I had to laugh when we were all waiting for her to finish cleaning the last sod house before we could move on.
Here are my boys!
The water fountain was very powerful and Kabe had a great time trying to squirt himself and the other kids.
Ksenya was successful in getting a little in her mouth I think . . . after about 3 attempts.
I had to sing the Snow White song when I saw her sitting here staring at herself. "I'm wishing, I'm wishing". Such a fun big girl!
They loved the fish, but it made me nervous. This picture is them trying to see the snake in the bottom of the pond - Daddy said it was dead and so they all had to get close to decide if he was right.
At the end we played in the big huge frog fountains and got soaking wet. Daddy especially loved spraying the girls and watching them squeal and run.
Brig isn't afraid of the water - he crawled right in and sat there laughing as all the other kids took turns splashing him.
This is how chill my baby boy is - he sat here most of the day just taking it all in.
This was one of my favorite parts. Crepe myrtle trees make a beautiful archway over this path and I've decided someday I'll plant crepe myrtle on either side of my driveway and it will look just like this - it was georgeous!
Oh - it was a long fun day and we were all very worn out when it was over. What a great adventure!
