Unfamiliar Territory

I have imagined myself a mother my whole life, but always a mother to babies and toddlers. Ksenya is my unbroken ground and I don't know what I'm doing!!! She has these quirky little habits that she does unconsciously. This is her most frequent - the fish face. I don't want it to become like a tick or something and it's really disconcerting to try to talk to her when she does it but I also don't want to be a royal control freak about it or make her self conscious about it either . . . any ideas?
She's such a sweet fun girl and very patient with me as I try out my new parenting ideas on her.
This is her listening to her Daddy tell her something at dinner. It's such a "Ksenya" face. I see this all the time and have to remind her that it's ok for her to be a little girl and not an adult. Poor thing - I guess I have new respect for all first born, they are the ones we make our biggest mistakes with I think.

I am glad that she is your first born! And her "Ksenya" face in the last picture is priceless.
