The Polar Express

Our ward activities committee is the best! Seriously - we had the most amazing activity all based on the Polar Express. It was so beautiful and everything was so much fun. My kids were totally wired. They even got to meet the "real" Santa. Yes - he's the real one, we argued about it all the way home and decided he must be because he was wearing glasses and everything! Ayvri wasn't too stoked about sitting with him and Kabe just giggled when he sat on his lap. He wouldn't even speak - he just stared at him and giggled. I wish I had it on video. Ksenya told him how good she'd been and that he could pick out whatever he thought she'd like. How very trusting of her. I usually am not a big fan of Santa and I don't think that my kids think he's real - just really fun to pretend, but this particular Santa played the part beautifully. I love this time of year! Oh - and Brig slept through the whole activity (what a good boy!) and I wasn't about to wake him up to sit him with Santa for a picture.

I was talking to Inga when Santa arrived, and I think Lillian was on the brink of tears she was so excited!

What an awesome party. I sometimes get a little frustrated with my activities comittee (the young women got the brunt of our ward party assignments this year). But then I think of what a daunting task that calling would be. Keep all the details from this one just in case I someday get called for being so judgemental--at least I can leach off other's creativity.

I'm so glad y'all came and enjoyed the activity! Thanks again for all your help! Ella actually didn't believe that he was the real Santa (can you believe that she would say that even after that phone message?!). Apparently the real Santa's beard is much longer and curly. But I agree...he did play the part beautifully and the best thing about him was his kind voice. I'm a believer!!
