We were blessed with the opportunity to be the live nativity at the Stake nativity exhibit. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Brig got to be baby Jesus and even though he was a little too big for the manger (the fatty), it was so wonderful to see a live little person laying there, kicking his feet and staring up at the lights and making those great baby sounds. He layed there happy for the first half hour and then got hungry and I had to rock him, but trust me I didn't mind. 2 years ago I was "great with child" during the Christmas season and it gave me great insight into the Christmas story from Mary's perspective. This year I got to lay my precious son in a stable for a few moments and the Spirit again bore witness of the divinity and reality of Jesus Christ. He was flesh and walked the earth, he did all that the scriptures say and more and now He lives again! What a beautiful reminder of the reason for the celebration - that feeling of peace and hope that comes from a testimony in that tiny Baby and all that He represents.

Oh Toni, what an awesome experience! He is a beautiful baby. Oh yea, I love the new family picture on the side!
How sweet!
What a beautiful experience! And what a great photo to capture the moment. Give the chubby bubby lots of loves from his CA Petersen auntie. I'm surprised Ayvri even got on Santa's lap, when you think of all the white hair and the glaring red suit:)
That is so awesome! What a great experience. Can't wait to see you guys! Michelle
Wow, what a wonderful experience.
You look so beautiful. a perfect Mary and of course Tyler looks like the Joseph I picture. Brigham is a doll. Beautiful baby boy.
Love all your kids. They are all so precious.
Can't wait to see you all.
Love Gramma P
What an awesome experience. As much as I have whined about not having the baby nearer my due date, it does bring a whole new perspective to Christmas. I love the symbolism of the atonement that is layered in bringing a baby into the world! I keep thinking of Elder Holland saying "the atonement isn't easy, it wasn't easy in the Garden and it is not easy for you" it has whole new meaning when you are ready to explode with a baby! :)
Well, I was gonna say..."What a great experience" but I think you got that point already! ;)
Last year at this time I was "Great with child" so I got to experience the Mary role in the nativity. It was fun!
Toni I need your address for Grandma so she can get a card sent to you for Christmas. She is able to see the kids pictures all the time because I have her check out your blog. When you get a minute just post it on my blog and I will get it to her.
Thanks a lot and I love the pictures of the kids. You are the greatest.

I told your Grandma that you would respond this morning, Thank you. As for the ice candles I got the idea from a Friend years ago just after David died. Paul just freezes water in a bucket. We have found over the years that if you put a can or something in the center then you don't have to worry about drilling out the center for the candle. Sometimes the ice will break and that causes a few problems. Paul needs to get busy on our candles for this year. I hope that you do pick up this tradition with your family. I know it is one that my kids will miss having this year since they are all staying home on Christmas eve but Paul and I will continue on.
I'm so glad you were able to do this with not only Tyler, but Brigham too! What a sweet experience.
That's awesome that Brigham got to be a part of it too! Drews will be baby Jesus when we celebrate with our family and I can't wait! Maybe it's silly, but for some reason it just makes me feel like we are a little closer. Make sense? Anyways, he makes a beautiful baby Jesus.
Maybe all that "hay' was kinda itchy... You guys look great! :)
