First let me apologize for making this public blog the record of my ever-so-private labor and delivery saga.
I'm dilated to a 7 . . . yes, that's right a 7!!! Basically this means a herd of stampeding buffalo could traipse through my cervix at their leisure, and yet, the boy isn't trying it. There is a little hitch in the works - the fluid which should appear black in the ultrasound (meaning clean and clear) is now a hazy fuzzy white (meaning something gross is in there with him). This translates as, "Go to the hospital you dumb woman . . . you're having a baby!"
So I came home, made lunch for the hoodlums and as soon as they're in their beds and Daddy makes it home from school (wonder how that exam went this morning) we'll be headed to the hospital. I know there's a happy ending to this drama and can't wait to share it when it happens.
Until then, I'll be watching closely for "the nurse" and hoping that nature keeps it quick since this mommy is just a little bit tired. At least we only have 3 cm to go right?
Oh and coincidentally, what I thought was 90% effaced on Monday is now only 80% effaced . . . is it possible to backtrack on effacement? And my water still hasn't broken which means there'll be no embarrassing public display of fluids (darnit, maybe next time!).

Oh, Toni! The waiting part is so crazy. It drives me nuts. You are definitely too funny. Maybe you can demand a different nurse. We're waiting for the "happy ending to the drama." Again, HANG IN THERE!
Ok good! I've been checking your blog daily to see if you've had your little guy, so now I know it's got to be soon. Good luck!

I pray everything goes well. Can't wait to meet this little guy!!
Oh my!!! I am totally in shock...a 7?! I am glad you are posting your saga...I am pretty darn clueless as to what to expect. And after so many horror stories it is nice to see kind of a humorous one (well, not funny for you but a 7 and not in labor??? kinda funny?) Ahhh, I can't wait to log in on Monday (or maybe later today) and see some fantastic pics of this little man!
