Lyme Disease

Doesn't my baby look beautiful all dressed up for church on Sunday? Her hair is a total crack-up now that it's long enough for me to curl and I think she enjoys being all prettied up as much as I enjoy doing it for her. I can't believe how big she's getting though.
We had a little scare this week when Ayvri woke up from her nap with this freakish looking bullseye rash on her leg. It was huge (literally her whole thigh was swollen) and it was oozy and very tender. We started searching the internet and the only thing we found that looked like this was lyme disease. Oh GREAT!
So - we found an inexpensive clinic that would see her and took her in. Come to find out it's staff infection! The Dr. says it's ALL over and that anyone can catch it about anywhere right now. She said probably the baby just touched something and then scratched her leg and walah! So - to be safe she is on antibiotics and the entire family has to use antibiotic cream in our noses to kill the little germ (it lives in nostrils) before it spreads. I guess it's not that big of a deal and her little boil/rash is looking much better today, but I was truly worried.
Still, it has served a great purpose. After feeling like the worst mom in the world yesterday I scoured the whole house and now it's nice and clean and sanitary and I'm feeling better about letting her play on the floor again!
Just as a side note, the Dr. said if she had seen her the day her rash looked like this picture then she'd have run the test for lyme disease because it was very typical, but since the rash had changed appearance overnight (it crusted over and turned brighter red), she knew it was a skin infection (probably staff). My point? Self-diagnosing on the internet can give mommy angina!

Love, love, love the hair! She is adorable. Her leg looks horrible. That must have been pretty scary to go in and find that. I'm glad that is getting better, you must kiss her from me. (Yea, on using the word "angina". Haven't heard it quite awhile. :))
