So this weekend we worked really hard in the yard. We rented a tiller and made a lot of mud in the backyard - this is what it looks like now :) What you can't see is all of the grass seed and fertilizer that I'm praying will grow into a beautiful back lawn that we can play on. So - we're committed to water every day and not play out there and wash the dog every time he comes in muddy for at least 2 months, and then hopefully we'll have a beautiful lush lawn to picnic on!

We also planted 2 strawberry plants and 2 tomato plants. Maybe this year my kids won't pick all the pretty flowers off of them before we see fruit :)

And - we borrowed a chain saw, and my new favorite power tool ever (the electric hedge trimmer) and did a lot of "cleaning up" in the jungle of a front yard. It was really therapeutic and we had lots of fun until we had to pile and tie it in nice uniform bundles for the garbage man. I'm used to just taking a load to the dump, or piling it on the back 1/2 acre somewhere, city living is for the birds, but we have dirt to play in and plants to take care of and there's something wonderful about that!
