Domestic Blunders
I love fried potatoes. Even more than that I love fried potatoes with eggs in them. The other night I was feeling no strong desire to make the dinner I had planned and decided instead to fry up some potatoes and eggs. Being too lazy to chop them small I threw them in the vitamix and blended the potatoes and eggs together. Seemed like a great idea - mashed potatoes as simple as they come right? Turns out, blending raw potatoes changes the starches quite a bit and what we ended up with was a sort of gray cement. Rarely is Tyler so unimpressed with my culinary skills that he can't eat it (the man is half garbage disposal I think and never complains) but this night he could only stomach one bite. I got through five or six I think. The kids decided skipping dinner was a pleasant alternative to risking their lives on my toxic concoction. Please don't try this at home! Still, it was a good lesson for us. Often we're frustrated that the kids won't try what I make, but after seeing this neither of us wanted to try it either . . . next time I'll cook the potatoes first and save myself yet another story of something I've made that will be passed down for generations as one of my finest domestic blunders.

HA HA HA HA HA HA This is tooooo funny! Yet another winner of a recipe to add to my "Aunt Toni's Famous Recipes" Looks fabulously disgusting, if I do say so myself. I sure love your creative cooking adventures!
Darn, I should have posted. When we got our Blendtech I made the same mistake. It is incredible how much a potato can resemble glue! I could have saved you this experience!
Oh my gosh that is so funny! I totally see your logic too. Sorry it didn't work out. I hope you were able to wash your pot out with out troubles, it looks like glue!
