April 2017

Daddy and Uncle Robert took the families ice fishing on Finger Lake.  We had a great time until we drilled an extra hole for Ayvri to step in and she had to be packed out with a sore ankle.

Mom (Toni) got to visit Utah during her birthday month and had to sneak in a visit to Sister Bohne and Boss.  He looked like Santa Claus with his white beard and it was wonderful to see him again, turned out to be the last time to see him on earth. How we love this amazing couple and their powerful example.

We visited a big outdoor sportsman show in Anchorage.  The kids were excited to ride a bus from the parking to the event.
We saw all sorts of things and Leisl got to shoot a bow for the first time!  Noah was given a cool wooden carved fish on our way out - just for being the cutest little Bear there.
We had a lot of fun cousin time with the other Petersen's and the McKenna's - doing homeschool and just horsing around.

Ksenya spends a lot of her time at the piano.
Brigham had a Pinewood Derby and lucky Mom got to be there as a Cub leader as well.  We spent hours decorating for the event and it was a huge success (and his car looked amazing!)
Alaskans don't stay inside when it's cold - we hiked the Cravasse Moiraine trail among others.
Kabe is very studious and spends a lot of his time in books.  His glasses make him look like Clark Kent and he is an absolute Superman!
School, school, and more school!
The little kids are good buddies.  Noah is something of a family mascot or pet and they love bribing him with snacks to do tricks and things they think are adorable so they can get them on video.
Kabe and Ayvri were invited by our friends (The Blacks) to visit the Portage Glacier.  It is amazing the pictures make all the ice look completely glowing blue.  We can't wait to take the family there.  They had such a great time!

We got a new pet this month - a hermit crab.  He is very entertaining and Max doesn't know just what to do with him!
Reading, reading, and more reading.  Kabe likes to be ready to go out and play in the snow so sometimes he just wears his coat in the house (when all the other kids prefer blankets).
Ksenya gets to be Mom's workout buddy sometimes.
More outdoor adventures - this time in the backyard.
The little girls are artsy fartsy.  While the idea of these blocks was to make geometric patterns and 3D shapes, they decided to 'paint' a landscape, complete with trees, barn, and spaceship?
The little two love to snuggle and that thumb just won't come out of his mouth.
Kabe and Ayvri tried to recreate the pose and it's not quite the same, but still pretty adorable.
