North, to Alaska

Daddy and I decided it was time for a little get-away.  We flew North (with Noah of course), courtesy of the amazing babysitting skills of crazy Aunt Jeri who is always so supportive of our wild ideas.
Here we are - don't we look like we need a little break?  Funny side-note.  The tickets were purchased for us and we may have misread the flight plan.  As in - we arrived in Vegas 24 hours before our scheduled flight.  We got a whole day to hang out with Aunt Sarah and her family.  We were careful to read dates and times after that :)

We headed to Alaska - right in time for the State Fair where I was blown away by the sheer size of the things that they grow.

It was sunny and beautiful and green and the mountains were really BIG.

We got to do a little hiking too - some lovely views.

We were hoping we'd see a bear or a moose while we were here but this is as close as we got.  Oh well.

We got to stop by the temple.  It seems really small but is very beautiful and reminds me of the Dallas and Boise temples which I grew to love.

Selfie for the kids.

From there we drove down to Turnagain Arm.  We were just driving along when Tyler said, "I think that's a whale".

NO WAY!  We sat by the side of the road and watched as a pod of beluga's swam around.  I even got to see an orca.

It was a fun trip (albeit a little too long for my taste).  One that proved to change our lives.  More on that to come.
