We Love the Mountains!

For Memorial Day we decided to run away to the mountains with some of our favorite peeps - the Oveson's.  We enjoyed the black dirt and cold water of Yankee Meadows as much as ever.
Darla and Leisl are old enough to enjoy playing in (and eating) the dirt with a little less supervision - we still had to watch Leisl closely though because she really loved the creek and we kept catching her on her way to the water.
Kabe is captain tree climber.  I was surprised he'd let me take this picture after he had gotten his pants wet and he had hung them out to dry.  I don't think he has any inhibitions though and I'm sure this picture will be excellent blackmail in years to come.
We followed Uncle Heath on a hike through through the mountain hunting for flint for him to make scouting things with.  We also searched high and low for a feather and didn't find one until we got back to our campground.
Happy little hikers Trace and Ayvri are best buddies - they are both full of sunshine (and covered in dirt).
The boys all think they are old enough now to carve and use pocket knifes.  Uncle Tyler was helping with a little supervision and I think he got caught up in it himself - making a spoon or something.
Beautiful Ksenya is even pretty when camping and is such a good helper with the little kids!  She also had some fun being a kid and running wild through the water.
Kabe tried to make a model boat and sail it, but kept losing his mast (a paper towel).  Still, he signed off something for scouts and was pretty entertained chasing his boat down the creek.
Daddy and Leisl are buds. She loves the dog and eating dirt and was a total trooper.  After bedtime she just sat in the camper and watched us out the window as we played and talked around the fire.
Here's one of Uncle Heath with the whole herd (or at least most of them) on our little hike.  It looks like a lot in the pictures, but 10 kids with this bunch is just plain fun!
