Celebrating Independence!

It's about time I post about our 4th of July. We had a great time off the beaten path, trying to avoid the crowds and the traffic and were mostly successful. We went to the parade in Arlington which was pretty fun, luckily we were there early enough to have shade most of the time (except for Daddy who is just too tall for shade). We spent some time at the lake, grilled steaks with the missionaries and had a fantastic fireworks show over the lake. It was really incredible to see all the reflections on the water. I'm so thankful we were both raised pretty patriotic and had to work hard not to cry during the national anthem in church on Sunday. Especially that third verse! "And thus be it ever when free men shall stand between their loved homes and the wars desolation, blest with victory and peace, may the heavn-rescued land praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation!!!" Hopefully the kids got the message of the holiday along with the good food and good fun, they sure were cute in their red-white-and-blue's!!!
