Little Darla is really coming into her own and I'm sure has no idea what's about to happen to her world. She is royally spoiled in every way by every person. She's the darling of the people who sit behind us in church, many of our patients and every single member of family that has any regular contact with her. She is a tease and loves to run the second I get her clothes off. She sneaks upstairs to Grandma whenever we're getting ready for bed and if you say, "Hey" to her she runs in the other direction on principle. She colors. I've never really had one show interest in it this early but she really likes to sit and do projects with the other kids. She also made it through all of sacrament meeting yesterday (for which the people behind us congratulated her enthusiastically. . . it meant an hour of entertainment for them). She was holding a baby doll the other day and I helped her to wrap it up and pat it and be soft and hold it so carefully. Makes me wonder how she's going to react to our new addition. She loves the dog and is usually pretty gentle with him so maybe that's a good sign. I know she will be annoyed when I'm holding the baby and can't hold her as she's aware of my belly and how it's taking up her space already.
She loves to have her hair combed and comes into the bathroom every morning and points at her head, and then up at the counter where she sits. She's even started to have an opinion about which bows she wears.
She is happy as long as she's being spoiled and not ignored and has finally mastered the signs "please" and "thankyou". She says "uh-oh" and "mama" and "dada" but that's the extent of her vocabulary. She likes to sit in the little folding chairs and cuddles with Ksenya during movies or stories. She still likes to be carried around and likes the way her new shoes look, but doesn't really walk very well in them.
