Dallas Tourism

Uncle Bevan decided to come and visit and didn't know just what he was in for. The first morning here we tried to play tourist (in the rain) and he was a kiddy tree all day, being climbed on by all four little hoodlums.
At the downtown Dallas cemetery. We didn't even know this was there but stumbled on it by accident. It's beautiful and has a huge monument to the confederate soldiers there.
We finally saw the bronze longhorns and they were impressive - Kabe tried to tip one over but Uncle Bevan saved him.
There are SO many of these huge sculptures. I got a picture of Tyler by the "boss" because his horse was huge. It was fun to climb all over the longhorns.
Ayvri thought it was fun to play in the pond and get a little dirty - then smile like she's the queen of innocence. What an imp.
We also checked out the JFK assassination site again. I don't think the kids understood why there was an X painted in the road and people kept taking pictures of it, but they enjoyed walking around in the rain.
The JFK memorial. This one gets me - it's just a big box . . . not the kind of memorial I'd want (be more creative when building my memorial please).

Finally after all that fun we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards Rodeo. Daddy decided we all needed to wear cowboy hats so we did (first time for Bevan and I thought he looked handsome). For a country girl, raised on home-town rodeo this was a huge disappointment. They just don't do it like the county fair rodeo's, although the smoke machine was an added touch I've never seen before. Give me the open country air and some good home-town cowboys, none of this big city rodeo for me please. Still, it was fun for the kids and Brig kept saying, "Cow!" all night long.
We're so glad Uncle Bevan came to visit!
